Questo qui sopra è Actress, ovvero Darren Cunningham. Con grande probabilità il vostro disco dell'anno faccio-capire-che-mi-piacete-anche-voi-altri sarà stato Caribou o Kanyewest. Splazsh di Actress (anch'esso scelto come disco-ponte dell'anno dal giornale filofighetto) invece è un disco immerso in tutto e poi sgranato. Sabato scorso (seconda serata di Houdini) Actress ha interrotto il funzionale back to back introduttivo di Vaghe Stelle e Sergio Ricciardone con dei droni dai quali è emersa della techno scura incatramata, spezzata dalla vecchia scuola electro tutta in fila di Maze spezzante al punto da spezzare se stessa e sfaccettarsi prima dei tentativi di house which hold the samples of the Human League, with all that capers around and escape, with the elements that go all out of time, or rather that follow all their time. Meanwhile, I recommend these two discs of Harvey Milk : After almost twenty year career can still make records like "Life the best game in town" (2008) and "A Small Turn Of Human Kindness" (2010). This is music on the coordinates sludge metal, with guitars and singing filthy visceral rhythms and heavy, especially in the second of two discs, slow and heavy. Devo dire che questo genere mi attrae molto, e questa band mi sta dando un sacco di soddisfazioni: il primo dei due dischi è più vario, con brani anche più ritmati e il geniale pezzo "Motown" ; il secondo è granitico come un palazzo lovecraftiano .
Un vecchio classico che adoro da anni e che mi sembrava il caso di rispolverare (cosa che faccio così di frequente che non riesce a impolverarsi) è "l'era del cinghiale bianco" di Franco Battiato (1979), disco splendido che considero uno dei vertici del rock d'autore degli anni settanta. Qui nasce la formula del "nuovo pop" di Battiato. Peraltro si tratta di un disc that I love the production, in particular the sounds of drums Tullio De Piscopo. The songs I like, in particular, are "Magic Shop" , "Ethiopian Easter" and "Stranizza d'Amuri" , but the guitar solo of Radius in "Roads of the East" and the text of "The King of the World" where we put them? disc is worth "One of These Days in England" of Roy Harper (1977), canautore English from the beautiful singing voice also "Have a Cigar" by Pink Floyd LP "Wish You Were Here. " It 's divided into two sides, one of the songs and the other consisting entirely of a long suites in several movements. Among the songs stand out the first three tracks: "One of These Days in England" (with spouses McCartney on backing vocals), "These last days" and "cherishing the Lonesome" .
I am also pleased to finally be able to enter "Utopia" (1973). No, I'm not crazy, this is an excellent disc of the band of the same name Todd Rundgren, guitarist known for having produced Meat Loaf and various other people. Gemma's very seventies prog freak. PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO "Freedom Fighters" EVEN FOR COSTUMES.
I'd like to be able to do the same operation "Entry" "Streets of Savatage (1991), but every time I pull it out of me square in the loop with the closing " Believe ", one of the best metal ballads of all time, today 's I have heard at least ten times. Sooner or later I listened to the album from beginning to end, the only time I did was ... Boh, so long ago that I do not remember either.
Always to be in the prog, "Being" Finns Wigwam (1974) presents a melodic prog sounding symphonic pieces suspended in air and singable ( "Maestro Mercy" ) and others with chord progressions quite specific (as in "pedagogue" and "Prophet" ), and I like a number.
