scene, makes the scene. Beginning with the extraordinary young girl in miniskirt and high heels takes you smiling in the hell ever yearned for. Carontessa left reluctantly, we come into the room below, where everything is a rustle of young waiters, among elegant green felt gaming tables covered by a sheet of glass and candle, Thonet chairs, marble tiled floor. On the walls there is a wallpaper with a bird out of the cage (there is some symbolism? Il ristorante La Scena, aperto nella primavera scorsa, è la dépendance dell'Hotel Locarno , Nouveau gem that makes you feel elegant and decadent dandy just exceeds the threshold. Here, as an aperitif, which is held in the beautiful garden of Locarno, the juxtaposition of the '30s with the '80s is not conducive to the end.

KITCHEN As for the food, the cuisine is refined and not at all disappointed. The chef is Jose Ferrer, who has worked for several years with Bruno Barbieri all'Arquade, restaurant Villa Del Quar (Verona, two Michelin stars). Counseling, and the dessert list are Stephen Preli, appreciated the chef Pastificio on Tiburtina in San Lorenzo. There is an excellent and satisfactory tasting menu (which can be customized on request) at 45 €. Among the more notable dishes, egg crust of bread with polenta, duck ravioli with Parmesan cheese and green apple sauce, roast stuffed squid with grilled radicchio and chopped capers. Among the desserts, an unusual passion fruit creme brulee with banana sauce, a fried zeppole cappuccino with cocoa.

ACCOUNT If you consider a meal with appetizer and second: carpaccio of beef with salad and raspberry vinegar (9), lamb chops (18), water (3), coffee 2.5. Total: € 32.5. If you consider a meal with appetizer and first: Eggplant Parmesan (9), spaghetti Gragnano (10), water (3), coffee 2.5. Wine: an excellent Lagrein San Michele Appiano (24)

BONUS Good value for money and food for a non-trivial

MALUS Some incongruity of style, an elegant but a bit 'too indecisive between retro charm and bright lights of the modern trendy

Why Does Alabama Have 12 On Its Helmet

Wine Roman Province

Largo Forum of Trajan 84-86. Tel 06-67662424. Closed Sundays. The map

Finally a good reason not to abolish the provinces. It took quest'Enoteca provincial (praise Zingaretti), inaugurated a few months ago to make sense of an institution that only the Northern League, the provincial people, by definition, still defend. But in this case really does rhyme with tradition Province. Just take a look at the menu Ciriola with pork and a bite or a pizza with sausage to understand that we are truly a special place in some way comparable to the wonderful Enoteca Regionale Palatium (praise Storace, perhaps the only decent thing that has been the President) of because of Frattina. The winery is located in the provincial Valentini Palace, right in front of Trajan's Column. To quote the press release "is a showcase for the best products of the province, a place of meeting tasting and can accommodate events and meetings with the city." Net of institutional advertising, is a nice place especially for lunch, with a few tables in an area, the Piazza Venezia, very poor food quality and now in the hands only to restaurateurs hungry, ready to pluck unwary tourists.
You can sit and eat a good cruditù carpaccio with a salad or seafood, but there is also a takeaway. Quality, with Ciriola (typical Roman sandwich) with pork, cheese disk with the Roman pizza with sausage. Drinking, of course, and well, without paying (from € 3 up the glass): thirty labels all of the province of Rome. Young and dynamic service.
